War and Peace Show 2013
The War and Peace Revival, Kent, 17-21 July 2013
The new venue for the War & Peace Show (or War & Peace Revival as it is now known) was given a big thumbs-up by the Garrison members who took part in this year's event. We had a lovely pitch just behind the grandstand, between the RAF display and the Home Front field, and only a few yards away fromt the tea rooms (offering excellent cream teas).
The most surreal moment of the week happened when the farmer form the Home Front field brought a cow and calf round to our pitch to graze on the gun site in true 1940s style!
As always, big thanks are due to those who organised things and shifted the kit (Doug, Jonathan and Andy D). Also to Barry and Rodders who worked like Trojans in the hot sun for most of Friday and much of Saturday to get the 3.7" HAA gun that we had borrowed into a condition where it was actually capable of firing!
