War and Peace 2010

The War and Peace Show, Beltring, 21–25 July 2010

Big, noisy and a little anarchic – the War and Peace Show is a like a cross between ‘Apocalypse Now’ and the Stonehenge Festival of the early eighties. As always there were lots of great displays to see, and a huge market selling militaria. This year we were squashed into a small sliver of land between the MVT and the bogs, which was not ideal. Still, a good time was had by all – the USO show on Saturday night being a particular highlight for me. The weather was hot, which prompted a move by some members into 1950s style jungle greens – all very National Service. Some hardy Garrison members arrived early in the week and manned the 3.7” guns for parties of visiting school children.
