The Goodwood Revival 17, 18 & 19 September 2010
Called in at very short notice by the organisers of the Goodwood Revival, the Garrison put on a creditable Ops Room display in the entrance to one of the VIP areas. Notable visitors included The Duke of Kent, Lord March, and Jackie Stewart.
As well as having a prime trackside location to watch the racing during breaks, the organisers also provided Garrison members with Paddock passes, so a fabulous opportunity for (vintage) petrol-heads.
Apart from the racing, highlights of the weekend included: watching the Spitfire and Mustang take-off from the grass runway in the middle of the track, an impromptu photo-shoot with the lovely Miss Kitten von Mew, and a stirring rendition of ''Underneath the Arches'' by the Garrison’s own Flanagan and Allen looky-likies, Keith and Jon. Mention must also be made of Mr Brigstock’s heroic self-control in the face of repeated and blatant provocation from one of the actors supplied by Goodwood to help out. This chap was repeatedly prompted by various Garrison members to give the order ''All guns commence firing!'' within earshot of Keith, but not once did the BSM rise to the bait!
